Success Stories

AquaSMART Live,  National Award Winning Program Developed for California Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways. (Currently Touring)

The California Department of Boating and Waterways needed a way to get their water safety message out to as many California elementary students as possible. After working with the Department on the original AquaSMART water safety video series as a writer and performer, we pitched them on an assembly program that would travel to schools across California. We developed a program that features a high energy puppet performance for the kindergarten through third graders and an entertaining game show program for the fourth through sixth graders.   This was in 2003 and we’ve been touring the program across California ever since visiting hundreds of elementary schools and special events every year. The program was awarded The National Safety Congress Award of Merit and the National Educational Advancement Award. http://www.dbw.parks.ca.gov/AquaSmart/

The Adventures of Sir Enamel and Tooth or Consequences, Developed for The Sacramento District Dental Society. (Currently Touring)

Reducing tooth decay in K-6 grade students was the goal of this touring program. The Adventures of Sir Enamel accomplishes this for younger elementary students with a puppet production where Knight Errant Sir Enamel protects teeth from the evil King Sugar Bug. The older students learn how to keep their teeth healthy in the competition show Tooth or Consequences. Students are challenged through a series of questions and physical activities to find a pathway to better oral health.

Clay and the Sugarsarus Rex, Developed for The Sacramento District Dental Society and Carroll Pediatric Dentistry. (Currently Touring)

Seeing the success of the K-6 program The Adventures of Sir Enamel the SDDS wanted a program specifically targeted for preschool, TK and kindergarten students. Puppet Art Theater Co. developed Clay and the Sugarsarus Rex, a fun production about a cave boy named Clay who has a sweet tooth that gets him to trouble with the great Sugarsarus Rex. This program is currently touring in Placer County, Sacramento County and Yolo County and in Southern California’s South Bay region. https://toothfairypuppetshow.com/

A New Pet for Princess Penny, Developed for Napa Humane.

Napa Humane wanted to reduce the number of pets coming into their shelters. Community education with our tour was one of the ways they accomplished this. The show was a fairytale style show geared for PreK-3rd graders. In it, Princess Penny wants a new pet and goes about it all the wrong way. Each pet she brings home wreaks havoc on the castle. When all seems lost her Fairy Humane Mother magically appears and helps Penny and her family learns how to choose a pet that is just right for them. This show toured through Napa County for over two years visiting schools and special events helping reduce the number of pets coming into their shelters.
